Kreativität
Der Grundstein der Kunst. Manchmal fließt sie wie ein Fluss, an anderen Tagen ist es eher ein tropfender Wasserhahn. Egal wie sie kommt oder geht, es ist wichtig sich nicht zu viel unter Druck zu setzen, denn eine kreative Blockade kennt jeder. Vor meinem Studium zur Kunstpädagogin absolvierte ich ein einjähriges Praktikum zur Illustratorin. Ich persönlich erstelle meine Bilder und Designs gerne mit der Mischung aus Eigenem und Inspirationen. Oft kommt es vor, dass ich ein Foto sehe oder ein Bild und dies mir dann wiederum als Idee für etwas Neues dient. Meiner Meinung nach muss man „das Rad“ nicht immer neu erfinden, womit ich meine, dass es völlig in Ordnung ist mit Referenzen zu arbeiten. Wenn ich zum Beispiel ein Pferd zeichnen oder malen will, dann arbeite ich gerne mit einem Foto. In manchen Bereichen kann man nicht immer alles aus dem Kopf aufs Papier bringen und es kann auch enorm helfen, sich etwas inspirieren zu lassen.
Beim Tattoo meines Ehemannes habe ich ebenfalls so gearbeitet. Ich habe mir unterschiedlichste polynesische Tattoos angesehen und mich zur Geschichte dieser belesen, um eben auch ein Gefühl für die Linienführung und die Symbolik zu bekommen. Das Tattoo an der Wade meines Mannes war eines der ersten Tattoos auf jemand anderem. Nach den Sternen an meiner Freundin und den ersten Tattoos auf meinem Arm und Bein war nun als Nächstes er an der Reihe. Er war demnach meine erste „Tattoojungfrau“. Der erste Stich war sehr interessant, danach überlegte er nochmal, ob er es wirklich wollte. Nicht wegen des Tattoos aber der Schmerz war dann doch etwas Neues. ????. Er entschied sich dafür (sonst hätte er sein Leben lang mit einer schwarzen Linie herumrennen müssen) und wir begannen. Da dies eines der ersten größeren Projekte war nahmen wir uns Zeit. Jedes mal ließen wir das Tattoo komplett abheilen, bevor wir mit dem nächsten Segment begannen. Und von Session zu Session wurde ich auch schneller. Insgesamt saßen wir also von Februar 2020 bis zum März 2021 daran. Mit dem Resultat sind wir beide sehr zufrieden und es soll auf jeden Fall noch erweitert werden.
Der kreative Design- und Entstehungsprozess dieses Tattoos bereitete mir viel Freude. Wann immer ich Zeit habe versuche ich kreativ zu sein. Aber genau das ist nicht immer einfach. Ich brauche dazu Zeit, Konzentration und Platz. Und dann gibt es Tage an denen alles um einen herum perfekt ist und dennoch kommt die Kreativität nicht. Aber es ist ein tief verankerter Teil von mir der immer da sein wird….hungrig und darauf wartend gefüttert und entfesselt zu werden.

The cornerstone of art. Sometimes it flowes like a river, other days it is more like a dripping faucet. But no matter how it comes and goes, it is always important not to put yourself under too much pressure because everybody knows a creative blockage. Before I started my degree in art education I completed a one year traineeship in the field of illustration. To create my pictures and designs I personally enjoy using a mixture of my own ideas and other inspirations. It often happens that I see a photograph or a picture which then serves as an idea for something new. In my opinion the „wheel doesn’t have to be reeinvented“, meaning that it is perfectly okay to work with references. For example, if I want to draw or paint a horse I work with a photo. You can’t always draw everything from memory and it can be extremely helpful to get some inspiration.
I followed the same principals while creating my husbands tattoo. I looked at different polinesian tattoos and read about the history to get a feeling for the line placements and the symbolism. The tattoo on my husbands calf was one of the first ones on someone else. After the stars on my friend and the first tattoos on my arm and leg, it was his turn. So by definition he was my first „Tattoo Virgin“. The first stitch was quite interesting, followed by him rethinking if he really wanted this. Not because of the motive but the pain was something new. ????. He decided to go for it (otherweise he would have had to live with a black line fort he rest of his life) and we started. Since this was one oft he first big projects we took our time. The Tattoo always completely healed before we started an new segment. And I was also able to get faster from session to session. So all in all we spent time from february 2020 to march 2021 on it. We are both very happy with the result and it will definately get expanded.
It was fun going through the creative design- and origination process of this tattoo. Whenever I have time to spare I try to get creative. But that isn’t always easy. I need time, concentration and space. And some days every outside setting can be perfect but creativity still doesn’t come. But it is a deeply rooted part of me that will always be there…hungry and ready to be fed and unleashed.
